About the Event

CoolBoots, a major Indian media service provider, was setting in motion its plan to enter the Vietnamese game market. With their flagship product, UniWebView 4—a plugin designed for mobile game studios to seamlessly integrate call-to-action features and web views to optimize monetization —they anticipated a warm reception, unaware of the challenges that lay ahead.

The Challenge:

Traditional outreach methods did not work out well for CoolBoots. Their diligent efforts with cold outreach via LinkedIn and other social media platforms yielded three successful visits to local studios. However, it seemed that they were missing that 'it' factor necessary to seal the deal each time. CoolBoots figured then that their expansion was at stake as they had been investing a lot of time and man-hours for no conversions.

The Solution:

After three consecutive failed attempts, CoolBoots turned to GameGeek for assistance, seeking a new, culturally relevant approach that could lead to actual sales.

GameGeek offered a fresh perspective. With our network and expertise in the industry, we tailored a co-sale strategy to revive CoolBoots' lost deals and open doors to new opportunities in Vietnam

Implementation:

GameGeek facilitated introductions and negotiations between CoolBoots and key players in Vietnam's gaming scene. We served as a gaming market liaison, helping CoolBoots refine their messaging to resonate with local studios, highlighting the uniqueness of UniWebView 4 in simple Vietnamese terms. We stressed the importance of a win-win relationship among all parties involved, and it worked.

Results:


With GameGeek's support, CoolBoots successfully won back a lost deal and established partnership with 10 additional game studios in Vietnam. Their integration of UniWebView 4 into the local gaming ecosystem has been seamless, positioning them as a reputable provider among key players in the region. Currently, all of the partners connected through GameGeek are utilizing CoolBoots' product for their games.

Our collaboration has not only saved CoolBoots years worth of time in market exploration and trust-building efforts but has also streamlined their approach to partnership development. Operating independently, they did successfully arrange office visits with an ideal partner and two incompatible prospects, but unfortunately, failed to secure any meaningful deal. This resulted in substantial losses of time, resources, and manpower. In contrast, our strategic alliance ensures CoolBoots is aligned with the most suitable partners, guided by GameGeek's extensive industry knowledge and decade-long presence in the Vietnamese gaming community.
